Bringing the Value
Bringing the Value
Here we are at Memorial Day weekend – the official start of summer and the end of May. It sure came quickly this year. Let me tell you that May was one busy month for the Chamber with three ribbon cuttings, two multi-chamber mixers, a prayer breakfast, and a golf tournament. Oh wait, the fun’s not over just yet as we have a new “Java & Jeans” event this morning and State of the City next Thursday. The Chamber also participated in the monthly Gateway Chambers Alliance meeting, where we took positions on several issues, and we had a high-energy monthly Ambassador meeting. As you can tell, your chamber of commerce is doing all it can to provide you value. We aren’t just busy to be busy, these are all targeted activity to make sure we are fulfilling our promise to each of our members – giving them the most “bang” for their investment “buck.” We are sincerely proud of what we do and what we offer.
On another note, the past few weeks have been full of great personal events as well. As I mentioned last week, my daughter graduated from community college and is moving on the university in the fall. Monday was May’s birthday, and we celebrated at a local member’s restaurant. And, my niece, Mila, was born early Thursday morning. Truly, it’s been an amazing week.
Next week is State of the City – we still have seats/sponsorships available, but they are going fast. If you haven’t RSVP’d yet, you might want to do so ASAP!
Enjoy Memorial Day weekend, and I hope you take time to remember those who have paid the ultimate price to protect the freedoms we all enjoy. If you can, attend a local Memorial Day event in your community. The City of Cerritos hosts a remarkable event each year. This year, it will be on Monday at 10 AM.
See you soon.
