Scott's Thoughts

Business First

Another busy week at the chamber. Monday night’s City Council meeting was very informative as Public Safety Manager, Daryl Evans gave a presentation on the city’s plans regarding growing concerns about Coyote’s. Tuesday the chamber Executive Committee met and discussed chamber business, which included a thorough review of our financial report (the chamber places high importance on our fiscal responsibilities with the funds from our member’s annual dues). Wednesday the chamber Ambassadors met and selected a new Ambassador Chairperson. Congratulations to Nancy Gutzmer, Relay for Life Specialist with the American Cancer Society.

Your chamber Ambassador team met this week to lay out plans for the coming few weeks. The chamber staff is very proud of the Ambassador team and the work they do to make our events a success. They are the “foot soldiers” of the chamber. Tirelessly working before, during and after events to assure that attendees not only accomplish their goals for being at an event, but that everyone also has an enjoyable time. Look for an Ambassador at any of our events, they’re the ones with the white name badges. They are more than happy to assist and answer any questions.

As the Chamber prepares for the launch of our new website, we appreciate our member’s patience during this down time. The chamber staff is excited about being able to bring more communication, promotion and visibility to our members and the city of Cerritos. We plan to add more opportunities for the membership to promote their businesses, products and services. After all, the Chamber is in the business to assist your business.
