 Scott Radcliffe's Thoughts

 Flip that Calendar

Whew, the sheer exhaustion of the Holiday Season. There are always so many things we want to do and so many experiences to take in. It is easy to get caught up in a very fast paced spiral. I certainly hope that you and yours were able to enjoy the festivities.  There are always changes during this time and I don’t just mean the calendar.

The Cerritos community is losing a very valued member of our community. Captain Joseph Nunez of the L.A.County Sheriff Dept. has been reassigned to the Scientific Services Bureau. Captain Nunez has served the Cerritos community for 39 years and will surely be missed. He has been instrumental in starting several community based policing programs that proved extremely successful in reducing crime in Cerritos. Last year saw another 11% decrease in crime in our beautiful city. The Sheriff Dept. will be conducting a candidate search for the Cerritos Station, but in the interim, Lieutenant Ann Devane will assume responsibility.

The Cerritos Chamber is looking forward to some changes in 2020 as we seek to add some programs and create even more benefits for our membership. As was previously mentioned here in this forum, next week begins a new Networking Referral oriented group that will meet weekly at the Chamber office. Ivan Gonzalez of IG1 will be the Chairperson for this important program that is sure to drive engagement.

Coming soon in February, we will be launching a Business Education Series whereby chamber members will present non-sales materials on a number of educational topics. This too, is geared toward adding a benefit to membership. Presentations have been targeted on key legislative, cost reducing, time saving and security enhancing topics; just to name a few. Stay tuned for more information on this exciting new program.

In case you were wondering, yes, we’re busy.  Because after all; it’s our business to assist your business.
