Find Your Grail
Find Your Grail
Last weekend I took the family to the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts to see Monty Python’s Spamalot, produced by 3D Theatricals. Let me tell you; it was outstanding! We laughed from beginning to end. The acting and singing were nothing short of amazing and the play, well I’m still laughing at the Knights Who Say Ni! Of course – spoilers! – the show is (sort of) about King Arthur (of the Britons!) and his search for the Holy Grail. This quest, of course, features many great and hilarious songs, but the one called “Find Your Grail” really spoke to me. We are all searching for something (perhaps even the Holy Grail), and we need to devote our fullest to this pursuit. We’re sure to hit some stumbling blocks along the way (maybe even Knights Who Say Ni), but it’s about the journey through the troubled times that make reaching a goal so fulfilling. Oh, and in the end, you get to marry the Lady in the Lake, er, Guinevere! Make sure you check out the next 3D Theatricals show headed your way!
On a more serious note, we are all thinking about Houston and the Gulf Coast as they regroup from Hurricane Harvey. There are many ways you can help, and I encourage you to do so. One way is through a Chamber member, the American Red Cross. Visit www.redcross.org to donate. I understand that well over 90 cents of every dollar donated will go directly towards relief efforts. Certainly, this event is a reminder that we should all be prepared. Take a moment to look at this great information from the Red Cross by clicking here. We all need to be ready, are you?
Finally, we gave video a try this week, and I think it turned out pretty well. Our Board Chair, Dr. Mark Chung, was the director and camera operator and I did some editing. We’ll be sharing these videos on our Facebook Page and You Tube channel on a regular basis. These videos will feature our outstanding members, letting the community know what’s going on here in Cerritos. So, remember to #shopcerritos and check out our videos.
Try to keep cool this weekend, and I’ll talk with you next week.
