About the Region
The Cerritos and Hawaiian Gardens region is rich with history. It wasn’t that long ago that one could see dairy cattle roaming on pasture land. What was called Dairy Valley became the group of cities that now occupy the region.
The City of Cerritos
encompasses 8.9 square miles and is home to about 50,000 residents. With close proximity to several major freeways, Cerritos has a vibrant and diverse business community made up of a mix of retail and industrial companies. The City is also home to the world’s most successful auto mall – the Cerritos Auto Square
– and the Los Cerritos Center
– a thriving regional mall with a great mix of retailers and services. The City of Cerritos is a great place to live with 26 parks and recreational facilities, the renowned ABC Unified School District and the famous Cerritos Library – the world’s first “experience library” with themed spaces, museum-quality educational exhibits, and a conference center. Cerritos is also home to the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts
, a City-owned and operated theater that features world-class performers.
The City of Hawaiian Gardens
is located just south of Cerritos. Hawaiian Gardens encompasses just under a square mile and is home to about 15,000 residents. This family-oriented community features several community and recreational centers that host festivals and events throughout the year. The City is known for its Community Civic Center and the renowned Hawaiian Gardens Casino
